Part of Speech -


Parts of speech are the categorization of words classified by their roles and functions within the structure of language. 

Parts of speech include everything that a language is in itself. Can you imagine that all the words of a language can be sorted into these categories? 
Those play different roles in the structure of a language.

In English, there are eight parts of speech:

1- Noun

2- Pronoun

3- Verb

4- Adverb 

5- Adjective





6- Preposition

7- Conjunction

8- Interjection

 







1)- Noun-  
Noun
The noun refers to persons, places, things, ideas, concepts, etc.
Example: 
1-Vishal is a good boy.
2-Melbourne is the best city.
2)-Pronoun-
Pronoun

A pronoun is a noun/noun phrase, or noun/noun phrase used to refer to; Instead of repeated use of the same noun (s) / noun phrase (s).
Example:
1-Anshul is a good boy. 
2-He gets up early in the morning.


3)-Verb-

Verb
Verbs are "doing" words. Verbs can express, physical actions-e.g.-play, drive, mental actions-e.g.- guess, think, or states of being -e.g.-am, exist.
Example: 

1-Alok is going home.
2-He loves his home.



4)-Adverb-
Adverb
Adverbs are used to modify or describe verbs, adjectives, and other adverbs.
 It answers the questions When? Where? How? or How much?
Example:

1-He is running fast
2-She always reads attentively.



Adjective
5)-Adjective-
Adjectives are words that are wont to describe or modify a noun or pronoun. For ex - quick, tired, red, happy, and obnoxious are adjectives because they can describe things - a tired boy, a red hat, a quick hare, a happy duck, an obnoxious person.

An adjective modifies or describes the noun in a sentence.
Example: 
Hank loves his beautiful daughters. 
His daughters also love their caring father. 

Preposition
6)-Preposition-
 A preposition may be a word wont to link nouns, pronouns, or phrases to other words within a sentence. They act to connect the people, objects, time and locations of a sentence, is called preposition

For example:
  • I was born on July 4th, 1982.
  • I was born one minute before my twin brother.
  • James went into the room.
  • We arrived at our destination.


7)-Conjunction-
Conjunctions
Conjunction. The conjunction may be a word that joins words, phrases, clauses, or sentences.. e.g. nor, or, yet, because, since, unless, while, where, but, etc.

Examples:
1- She bought a shirt and a book.
2-I have two goldfish and a cat.


8)-Interjection-

 An injection is a word that expresses a strong emotion. It expresses the feeling of joy, sorrow, surprise, sadness, happiness, and excitement.
Interjection

E.g- Oh, Wow, Hurrah, Alas, Ouch, Oops, Aha, Yahoo, e.t.c. 

Examples:  

1-Oh! That feels terrible. 
2-Alas! They have lost the match.
